Yes, bench seats will be installed around the perimeter of the play area. Each seating node will have space alongside for wheelchairs, prams and scooters etc. There will also be large area outside the play area to picnic on the grass.
Play elements will be placed in locations to provide for inclusive play. This will include rubber softfall for access within the site, play boards, accessible swings, slide, talky tubes and communication boards.
No. There will be no shade sails as this space as as it has been designed to use the existing trees to provide natural shade.
Two new accessible picnic shelters with table and chairs will be installed directly connected to the path around the new play space. Five more new picnic shelters will also be installed in Churchill Park. The shelters works are separate to this play space project.
