Home to over 100 sports clubs, Rockingham has many opportunities for our community to be involved in sport, whether as an athlete or volunteer. The City recognises the achievements and contributions of local sportspeople, volunteers and sporting organisations through our annual Sports Star Awards, and the value that sport brings to the community.
2026 Sports Star Awards
Nominations are now open for the 2026 Sports Star Awards. This year, a $7,500 cash prize pool will be awarded across 12 categories, acknowledging sporting success, leadership, inclusion and volunteerism.
The annual awards will be held on Wednesday 16 September 2026.

2025 Sports Star Awards
In 2025, 150 finalists, their families, club representatives, and dignitaries celebrated 28 years of recognising and rewarding the achievements of local sporting individuals, clubs, and teams competing at international, national, state, regional and local levels.
We proudly honoured our top athletes, volunteers, and sporting clubs at an awards ceremony on Wednesday 17 September 2025 at the Gary Holland Community Centre.
