2023 Sports Star Awards 
The value of sport and recreation to the Rockingham community cannot be over emphasised. This is why the City of Rockingham continues to recognise the achievements of local sportspeople and volunteers.
This year, the City’s Sports Star Awards will celebrate 26 years of recognising and rewarding the achievements of local sporting individuals, clubs and teams participating in international, national, state, regional and local competition levels.
The 2023 Sports Star Awards Ceremony will be held on Wednesday 20 September 2023 at the Gary Holland Community Centre.
2023 Sports Star Awards Nominations Open
Do you know a City of Rockingham resident, dedicated sports volunteer, sports team or club that has excelled in their chosen sport and deserves to be recognised?
Nominations are now open.
$6,300 in prizes is up for grabs for you or your club.
Categories
Nomination categories and prize money:
- Junior Sports Star of the Year - $300
- Senior Sports Star of the Year - $400
- Masters Sports Star of the Year - $400 *new category*
- Indigenous Sports Star of the Year - $400 *new category*
- Sports Person of the Year with Disability - $400
- Junior Volunteer of the Year - $300 *new category*
- Volunteer of the Year - $400
- Team of the Year - $800
- Champion Club of the Year - $1,200
- Club Governance Award - $800 *new category*
- John Brown Lifetime Achievement Memorial Award - $500
- Inclusion Program or Event of the Year - $400 *new category*
All nominees have the chance to become finalists in the City of Rockingham’s 2023 Sports Star Awards. If you would like to nominate someone, please download the Nomination Package below and return to the City before the close of business on Monday 31 July 2023.
