This is a pilot program to encourage community members to join local clubs and activity groups, through creating a sense of familiarity. It is hoped people will feel more comfortable reaching out to a Club Connector than they might if approaching a faceless club.
Instead of just listing your ordinary details in an online database, the Club Connector pilot will allow you to have a bit of fun and put a 'face to the club'.
To put a 'face to the club' making clubs and groups more approachable for community members wanting to join.
Each participating club or group will have an individual profile on the City's website that includes all the usual details (name, location etc.) as well as details of the Connector. Connector details will include a photo, contact details and a little bit about them. See the sample profile for an idea of what it could look like.
The pilot will be run on a small scale to determine the viability of offering it to all clubs and activity groups.
Simply fill out all the details on the application form and submit to customer@rockingham.wa.gov.au. If your application is successful, you will be notified and asked to provide a photo of your Club Connector.
Participating clubs or activity groups will nominate a Connector. This person does not have to be the group organiser or president, just anyone who is passionate, encouraging and available to meet with people who are interested in joining.
The main role of a Club Connector is to be the first point of contact for people wishing to learn more or join their club.
Other requirements will be to:
- agree to have their details promoted as part of the Club Connector program
- provide a photo of themselves for their Connector profile.
This will be a 12-month pilot.
Evaluation will be conducted through regular contact with clubs and new members, as well as periodic surveys. Clubs who wish to provide feedback outside of this are welcome to.
This will depend on the success of the pilot. Participating clubs will be notified of the evaluation outcome.
