Under Key Element 5: Communicate, Connect and Advocate in the City's Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2024-2029, the City will be implementing an online City of Rockingham Community Directory to provide a centralised resource for local community members, groups, clubs and service providers.

Club Connector

The Club Connector program is a pilot program that has been designed to encourage community members to join local clubs and activity groups.

All clubs and activity groups are welcome to become a part of the Club Connector pilot as long as they:

  • are open to new members
  • have someone willing to act as a Connector.

Club Connector Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Club Connector program?

This is a pilot program to encourage community members to join local clubs and activity groups, through creating a sense of familiarity. It is hoped people will feel more comfortable reaching out to a Club Connector than they might if approaching a faceless club.

What is the purpose of the Club Connector program?

To put a 'face to the club' making clubs more approachable for community members wanting to join.

Why is it a pilot program?

The pilot will be run on a small scale to determine the viability of offering it to all clubs and activity groups.

How can our club take part in the pilot?

Simply fill out all the details on the application form and submit to customer@rockingham.wa.gov.au. If your application is successful, you will be notified and asked to provide a photo of your Club Connector.

Who can be a Club Connector for our club?

Anyone who is passionate, encouraging and available to meet with people who are interested in their club.

What will a Club Connector be expected to do?

The main role of a Club Connector is to be the first point of contact for people wishing to learn more or join their club.

Other requirements will be to:

  • agree to have their details promoted as part of the Club Connector program
  • provide a photo of themselves for their Connector profile.
How long will the pilot last?

This will be a 12-month pilot.

How will the pilot be evaluated?

Evaluation will be conducted through regular contact with clubs and new members, as well as periodic surveys. Clubs who wish to provide feedback outside of this are welcome to.

Will the pilot continue?

This will depend on the success of the pilot. Participating clubs will be notified of the evaluation outcome.
