We're committed to providing opportunities for the wider community to lead a healthier and connected life. One of the focus areas, as outlined in our Health and Wellbeing Strategy, is to provide programs and opportunities that encourage physical activity, promote nutrition, healthy eating and social connection in the Rockingham community. Recent studies have shown:
- Seven in 10 older men say their health isn't very good.
- Seven in 10 men are overweight or obese.
- One in two men have experienced a mental health problem.
As a result, we have now developed a new 10-week program called “Men Rockin' Goals Together” which will be held at the new Baldivis Indoor Sports Complex. The program, which was co-designed by community members, includes an indoor soccer competition with additional focus on weight loss, nutrition, peer support and improving health outcomes.
Game times will vary from week to week with the different kick-off time slots. Fixtures will be made available to participants in advance.
For more information on the program dates and registration, please visit the Baldivis Indoor Sports Complex page.
