Men Rockin' Goals Together

Men playing indoor soccerWe're committed to providing opportunities for the wider community to lead a healthier and connected life. One of the focus areas, as outlined in our Health and Wellbeing Strategy, is to provide programs and opportunities that encourage physical activity, promote nutrition, healthy eating and social connection in the Rockingham community. Recent studies have shown:

  • Seven in 10 older men say their health isn't very good.
  • Seven in 10 men are overweight or obese.
  • One in two men have experienced a mental health problem.

As a result, we have now developed a new 10-week program called “Men Rockin' Goals Together” which will be held at the new Baldivis Indoor Sports Complex. The program, which was co-designed by community members, includes an indoor soccer competition with additional focus on weight loss, nutrition, peer support and improving health outcomes.

Game times will vary from week to week with the different kick-off time slots. Fixtures will be made available to participants in advance.

For more information on the program dates and registration, please visit the Baldivis Indoor Sports Complex page.

Players Handbook

The player handbook will be provided to each participant at the start of every season. It is a personal handbook where participants can record their goals, weight loss progress and reflections throughout the season. It is a great resource to compare results along the way and will help with goal setting in future seasons.

The handbook also contains a range of information relating to mental and physical health services, City of Rockingham recreation facilities, the Act Belong Commit program, nutrition workshops, healthy recipe ideas and warm up tips.
