COVID-19 update

Aqua Jetty and Warnbro Community Recreation Centre (WCRC) are open to members and non-members. From Monday 12 July the facilities are able to operate at 100% capacity in line with the State Government's transition into Phase 5 of the COVID-19 roadmap. The following applies from 5.30am on Monday 12 July 2021:

Group fitness

Bookings are not required for group fitness at Aqua Jetty, however participants are required to collect a ticket up to three hours before the class start time, and casuals can collect a ticket up to 15 minutes before the class start time to reserve a spot.  The maximum number of participants for group fitness classes is 35 and RPM has a capacity of 15.

Bookings are still required at WCRC, and are to be made no more than 72 hours and no less than two hours before the start of class to be made by each individual participant – bookings will not be accepted on behalf of another.  No walk-ins will be permitted, even if there is space in the class.


The pools, spa, sauna and steam room are open. The slide is currently closed.

Swim School is operating as normal.

As always, the City will continue to undertake risk assessments and advice from the WA Health Department. Our top priority is the safety and wellbeing of members, patrons, employees and the wider community.  Please remember:

  • Mandatory contact tracing – please continue to scan the QR code on every entry into the facility. We highly encourage the use of the SafeWA app and ask that you only use the paper registers if absolutely necessary.
  • Hand hygiene – please keep up healthy hygiene habits and use hand sanitiser regularly.
  • If you are unwell, please stay home until you are well again, and get tested if you qualify.

COVID-19 Frequently asked questions

  • Is contact tracing mandatory at Aqua Jetty?

    Yes, mandatory contact tracing measures have been in place at Aqua Jetty from 5 December 2020.

    Methods of contact tracing are via the SafeWA App (preferred) or electronically by a members of staff upon entry into the centre. Paper contact tracing will be used as a backup method only.

    How do you manage physical distancing?

    We have implemented the recommended guidelines and directives from the State and Federal Governments and the WA Department of Health, with signage, floor markings, barricades and sneeze screens.

    Have you changed your opening hours?

    No, normal opening hours are in place.

    How do you monitor attendance in the centre?

    Members scan their membership tags as normal, and a daily attendance log is saved from our Facility Management System. 

    From Saturday 5 December all visitors to the Aqua Jetty will also need to check in using the SafeWA app. If you do not have the app, our staff will assist you with other ways to register. Please arrive early to your session to allow time to check in.

    How many people can be in the centre at any one point in time?

    The number of participants for group fitness classes is capped at 35 and RPM has a capacity of 15.

    Is the general public able to access the centre or is it members only?

    Access to Aqua Jetty is available to members and non-members.

    Will you scan people’s temperature before entry?

    No, we will not be conducting temperature testing for patrons at Aqua Jetty.

    Do people need to wear a mask in the centre?

    Masks are not required.

  • When will my membership reactivate?

    All payments have resumed per their regular schedule.

    You do not need to contact the centre or the direct debit company directly regarding restarting your membership, enrolment or payments.

    What if I don’t want to return to Aqua Jetty?

    You may choose to suspend or cancel your membership.  If you do wish to cancel, please email as phone cancellations will not be accepted.

    Will I be charged a cancellation fee if I wish to leave?

    Your usual cancellation terms and conditions will apply (i.e. 14 days' notice, balancing any previously owed fees, etc.).


    I have lost my job, do you have any assistance for hardship?

    Membership suspensions can be put in place free of charge for up to 12 weeks in any financial year. You will be required to request this in writing to  Alternatively, you can discuss your account and options with one of our membership officers.

    If I am vulnerable to COVID-19, will you allow me a medical suspension?

    In order to qualify for a medical suspension, you will be required to request this in writing to accompanied by a medical certificate with a clear date period outlined by your doctor. Medical certificates that do not stipulate a timeframe will not automatically be 'open ended'.

  • What new cleaning protocols have you put in place?

    In consultation with industry and governing bodies, the City of Rockingham’s Occupational Safety and Health, and Business Continuity teams, we have employed the services of additional staff, public cleaning equipment and stations, as well as full-time professional cleaning teams to ensure that we are meeting and exceeding all standards for cleaning protocols under the COVID-19 guidelines.

    All Aqua Jetty staff have also undertaken COVID-19 Infection Control training.

    How will you keep the shared group fitness equipment sanitised?

    Group fitness equipment will be disinfected between each use/class. Participants are also encouraged to wipe down and disinfect their equipment before and after use, and bring their own equipment where appropriate and applicable (i.e. yoga mats, etc.).

    How often are doors and surfaces wiped down?

    Door and surface cleaning is undertaken on a regular and continual rotation throughout the day, both in adhoc and scheduled capacities to ensure that all cleaning standards and protocols are met. Where possible, doors are operated by a single member of staff to avoid cross contamination by multiple people.

    How do you make sure the equipment is kept clean?

    Equipment cleaning is undertaken on a continual rotation throughout the day, both in adhoc and scheduled capacities to ensure that all cleaning standards and protocols are met.

    Patrons are also required to wipe down and disinfect their equipment before and after use with the cleaning equipment supplied.

    How do you manage shared equipment in boot camp-style classes?

    All equipment is cleaned and disinfected at the end of each session. Participants are encouraged to do the same at the beginning and end of each class.

    Participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment where appropriate and applicable (i.e. yoga mats, etc.).

    How frequently are sinks, taps, toilet doors and flushers sanitised?

    Sanitation of sinks, taps, toilet doors and flushers is undertaken on a regular and continual rotation throughout the day, both in adhoc and scheduled capacities to ensure that all cleaning standards and protocols are met.

    Are you increasing the amount of hand sanitiser stations and wipe dispensers?

    Yes, absolutely.

    How will you keep the showers sanitised between uses?

Aqua Jetty is one of the City's and Western Australia's premier aquatic and health facilities and is open all year round and includes:

Children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by a responsible person 16 years or older when at Aqua Jetty.


Aqua Jetty endeavours to include the whole community with programs adapted to ensure anyone can participate, with suitable access provided throughout the facility. All pools are accessible, either by ramp, hoist, aquatic wheelchair or low gradient stairs. Universally accessible toilets and change rooms are located on both floors. The lift provides access to the group fitness room and gym on the first floor.
