About the awards

Our 2022 Art Awards did not go ahead due to renovations at the Rockingham Arts Centre.

The annual Art Awards recognise artistic achievement in a range of categories. Each year Western Australian emerging and professional artists are invited to respond to a theme, in any two or three-dimensional medium (maximum dimensions apply).

Typically, entries open in late November and selected artworks are exhibited over two weeks in early May at the Rockingham Arts Centre and Gary Holland Community Centre. Selected artworks are judged by independent guest judges. Following judging, an awards presentation is held during the exhibition period; with seven award categories valued between $1,500 and $5,000 presented.

Keep an eye on this page for information on entries for 2023.
