Rediscover Rockingham

Only a short 45-minute drive south from Perth’s CBD, Rockingham is a popular destination offering a wide range of visitor experiences and activities.

The Rockingham region is well sign posted with visitor attractions indicated by the blue tourist signs located along major roads.

On entering the Rockingham region from either the north or south boundaries, we recommend taking the Rockingham Coastal Drive 202. This scenic drive is well sign posted and starting points can be accessed on Patterson Road, Mandurah Road or Ennis Avenue.

Pop in to one of our two visitor centres: Penguin Island Visitor Centre located at Mersey Point or Rockingham Visitor Centre located on the Rockingham Foreshore for further visitor information once you arrive.

Public transport

Rockingham is accessible by both bus and train.

You can catch the Mandurah line train from the Perth Underground Station to Rockingham Station, which takes about 45 minutes.

You can then catch the 555 bus service which provides a high frequency shuttle service from the train station to the Rockingham city centre and foreshore.

Transperth's website provides timetables, maps and information on fares, obtaining tickets and accessible transport. You can also search for advice on getting from your starting location (e.g. by street and/or suburb) to your desired destination.

Parking

Parking is free in the City of Rockingham, although some areas have time restrictions. You can find out all about parking and download some parking maps on our parking page.

There are also several boat ramps in the Rockingham region. During the summer months, we allocate overflow parking to some of the boat ramps to accommodate the increase in traffic. Please ensure you do not leave any valuables in your car if you are out on the boat, and please park responsibly.
