Our Youth Employment Program (YEP) offers paid traineeships and apprenticeships at the City for young people aged between 16 and 24 years.
Run in partnership with Nudge and MEGT, the program specialises in traineeships and apprenticeships, to allow young people to access paid work and training opportunities that will provide on-the-job experience and become a stepping stone towards further education and formal employment, either with the City or elsewhere.
This investment in our community provides paid employment and training opportunities (trade and tertiary) to local young people who will gain on-the-job experience in their chosen field.
Launched in 2022, we are proud to have commenced our fourth YEP cohort in October 2025, with the fifth cohort due to begin in late 2026.
