Our Youth Employment Program (YEP) offers a three-year paid traineeship at the City for young people aged between 16 and 24 years. The program was launched in 2022 and we are proud to say our third cohort commenced in October 2024.
YEP is run in conjunction with our partners Nudge, a for-purpose charity organisation. The program specialises in traineeships and apprenticeships, to allow young people to access paid work and training opportunities that will provide on-the-job experience and become a stepping stone towards further education and formal employment, either with the City or elsewhere.
This investment in our community provides participants with access to paid employment and training opportunities (trade and tertiary) while building on-the-job experience in their chosen area.
