Rockingham Seniors Month - WA Seniors Week

The City recognises WA Seniors Week every November to celebrate and highlight the contributions made to community by older adults.

The 2025 Seniors Week Guide featured a whole month of events across the City of Rockingham. All events were free and offered a chance to connect, learn, move, create and celebrate.

The second half of the 2025 guide is a resource for services, supports and programs that are available all year to support an age-friendly Rockingham.

Seniors Safety

The City recognises the importance of safety for older community members. World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) is commemorated each year on 15 June to highlight the issue of abuse of older people.

Throughout June there are a range of events focussed on understanding and preventing elder abuse. This includes recognising the community contributions to the Purple Road Project, a state-wide initiative to raise awareness and recognise the people who have been impacted by abuse as an older person.

If you are concerned that you or a loved one may be experiencing abuse, contact the WA Elder Abuse Helpline on 1300 724 679 or visit Advocare

You can also find more information and resources to help you stay safe in your relationships, home and community by visiting the City's Community safety pages.
