The annual City of Rockingham Seniors and Carers Expo was established in 2009 and is the City’s largest event for older people. Originally held in the Gary Holland Community Centre, the event has grown every year and is now held in the Mike Barnett Sports Complex in October.
The event includes trade stalls and activities (for grandparents and grandkids alike), as well as information stalls from a range of community groups, organisations, service providers, government departments and businesses. So there is something for all carers and older people to do and learn. Plus free refreshments on the day.
Older residents are a large, invaluable and growing segment of the City of Rockingham’s community. Currently, around 19% of the people living in the City of Rockingham are over the age of 60. This is an increase from 16% just five years ago and that number is only predicted to keep growing.
Delivering and connecting people with information is a key part of our strategy and commitment to an age-friendly community, and that’s why this event is so important to us. For more information about the City of Rockingham’s Seniors Strategy and our commitment to an age-friendly community, visit rockingham.wa.gov.au/community/seniors/age-friendly-rockingham. Planning is already underway for the 2023 event, keep an eye on this page in 2023 for stall holder registration information.
Volunteers
We always need volunteers to help us deliver a welcoming and fun event. For more information, or to register your interest as a City of Rockingham volunteer please contact customer@rockingham.wa.gov.au or 9528 0333.
Stallholders
Organisations and community groups that support or provide services to seniors and carers are invited to register for a stall. Keep an eye on this page for further information.
Sponsors and activity partners
We provide opportunities for organisations to support the Seniors and Carers Expo, while promoting their own age-friendly commitments. Groups and organisations are encouraged to show support for this important event as a sponsor or by providing an activity/entertainment service. Further information about these opportunities will be released in 2023.
