We facilitate collaboration opportunities between key stakeholders via the Rockingham Education and Training Advisory Committee (RETAC). RETAC is a formal committee of Council as dictated by the Local Government Act. It has both professional and community representation determined by election every two years.
The primary role of the committee is to provide advice and guidance to Council on education, training and lifelong learning within the City of Rockingham. RETAC, in consultation with City staff, led the development of the Learning City Strategy 2013-2016 in consultation with other interested groups.
Current membership of RETAC includes professional representation from:
- Elected councillors
- Community representative
- South Metropolitan TAFE
- Department of Education
- Independent schools
- Two university representatives.
