We host skateboarding, BMX and scooter clinics and competitions during the January, April and September/October school holidays. These activities are provided by the crew from Freestyle Now and are open to young people aged from four years. Young people under 18 must have parent permission to participate. Riders of all skill levels are encouraged to get involved. Registrations are taken on the day so be sure to arrive early to sign up. Due to COVID-19, riders must bring all of their own equipment.
All skate park competitions include professional first aid and security services. Competitions are run to appropriate Australian Scooter Association and Australian Skateboarding Federation judging and standards, however, do not form part of the official activities of these organisations. As such, competitions are judged at the discretion of the provider with support from the City. Young people, their parents and supporters are encouraged to enjoy competitions as a development opportunity for riders and as a way to increase positive perceptions of local skate parks.
Up and coming Rockingham Skatepark Series dates are published on our Facebook page and What's On Calendar.
Please note that dates are subject to change in the case of inclement weather or unforeseen youth recreation space damage. Facebook event pages are the best place to get the most up-to-date information on each activity.
Sign up to our Community Development E-Newsletter to see when events are coming to a youth recreation space near you.
