Residential customers

Residential customers entering the landfill are required to pay by tip pass, cash or EFTPOS. Some recyclable items are accepted free of charge. Enter the site via the car lane if using a car, utility, van or trailer.

Loads in excess of three cubic metres are deemed to be commercial and will be charged by weight.

Conditions of entry

Customers entering the landfill are required to follow the conditions of entry. These are signposted at the facility and are as follows:

  • enclosed shoes must be worn to access the facility and be worn at all times
  • appropriate clothing to be worn (upper and lower body attire)
  • no aggressive behaviours
  • no smoking onsite
  • treat all staff with respect - they are there to assist the operation of the landfill and not the unloading waste
  • obey posted speed limits onsite
  • current tip passes must be presented at the weighbridge window upon arrival.

Illegal dumping including asbestos will not be tolerated onsite and appropriate authorities will be notified.

Residential barcoded tip passes

City of Rockingham ratepayers receive tip passes for the facility each year on their rates notice, allowing four free "multi-purpose" entries per household. Each entry pass is for up to 1.5m3 and can be used for either general or green waste.

The tip pass barcode is located on the bottom of the original rates notice in a detachable section. The 2024/2025 barcodes expire on 31 July 2025.

Lost tip passes can be replaced by contacting us on 9528 0333. The ratepayer of the property or property manager are authorised to make the request.

Commercial customers

Loads in excess of three cubic metres, or heavy vehicles must enter the site via the weighbridge. There is a minimum charge of 500kg for most waste types. Payment is made in full upon entry by cash, EFTPOS, business cheque or by prearranged accounts. See Landfill Fees below in Related documents.

Visit the commercial waste page for more information.

Shredded green waste (mulch)

Shredded green waste (mulch) is available to the public free of charge. Residents are responsible for loading the mulch themselves. Correct clothing, footwear, and tools will be required.

Shredded green waste is recycled on site at the landfill from general green waste, prunings and green waste verge collections.

For more information please contact the Millar Road Landfill on 9528 0333 to check on availability.

Chemical waste

Household chemicals and paints can be disposed of through the Household Hazardous Waste program or Paintback paint recycling program available at the Millar Road Landfill. Please see hazardous household substances for more information.

Commercial operators can visit the commercial waste page for information on disposal of this waste at the Millar Road Landfill.
