Christmas Festival Santa and Mrs Claus in the Christmas Parade

We hosted our annual Christmas Festival on Saturday 4 December. The festival featured stage performances from Wadumbah Dance, South Coast Baptist College, Secret Harbour Primary School, and Kim Stolen Music.

Community members lined the streets to cheer on the ever popular Christmas Parade, as more than 30 groups made their way from the Village Green to Churchill Park.

The festival then culminated with the switching on of the Christmas Lights, with Churchill Park, the Beach Plaza and The Lookout filled with dazzling light displays and decorations.

New Year's Eve

Our New Year's Eve Celebration took place on Friday 31 December at the Rockingham foreshore. Due to COVID restrictions in place at the time, we were unable to have Eskimo Joe and support acts perform.

The event went ahead with food vans, rides and games, plus two fireworks performances at 9pm and midnight.

Australia Day

Thousands of people spent Australia Day at the Rockingham foreshore on Wednesday 26 January. The stage program included music by These Galahs, Guthrie Trio, Lights Out, and some amazing local talent. Families were able to get crafty with free children’s activities and enjoy all the roaming entertainment. Fireworks ended the evening at 8.30pm.

Symphony on the Green

The Village Green came to life on Saturday 19 February, with concertgoers basking in the glorious sounds of the Perth Symphony Orchestra (PSO).

A family preshow, featuring performances from Bryan Dalton, Perth Choro, Lyndell Harbeck, and Cameron the Magician, delighted patrons of all ages before PSO headlined the event.

Conducted by Craig Dalton, the PSO and Dr Richard Walley put together a stunning performance for the audience that weaved together both Nyoongar and Celtic songs and stories. The City partnered with Perth Festival to debut the world premiere performance by Dr Walley.
