Since 1996, the City of Rockingham Sports Star Awards has marked an annual celebration of outstanding achievements within the Rockingham sporting community. The City takes great pride in recognising and rewarding the achievements of local sporting individuals and teams.


The 2019 City of Rockingham Sports Star Awards ceremony will be held at the Gary Holland Community Centre on Thursday 19 September 2019.

​Celebrating its 23nd anniversary, the awards have recognised international, national, state, regional and local competition level champions from Rockingham. The value of sport and recreation in the Rockingham community cannot be over emphasised. ​This is why the City of Rockingham continues to recognise the achievements of local sports people and volunteers.


The categories for the 2019 Sports Star Awards are:

  • Club of the Year
  • Team of the Year
  • Senior Sports Star of the Year
  • Junior Sports Star of the Year
  • Sports Star of the Year with Disability
  • Volunteer of the Year
  • John Brown Lifetime Achievement Memorial Award.​


Nominations are now open for the 2019 Sports Star Awards. 

​Do you know a Rockingham resident, team or club that has excelled in their chosen sport, or a sports volunteer who deserves to be recognised? Nominations for the awards close at 4.30pm on Wednesday 31 July 2019. Nomination forms are available below.
