Project summary

We're proposing to install new footpaths and improve access to existing paths as part of the City’s Long Term Cycle Network Plan.

As part of the Long Term Cycle Network Plan, we're planning to install new footpaths at various locations across the City. 

These projects aim to improve the safety for pedestrians and cyclists, making it safer and easier for people to walk, ride and move around the area ensuring pedestrians no longer need to walk on verges or the roadway.

The upgrades also support the goals of our Road Safety Action Plan.

Proposed footpath works and public consultation plans

Community feedback is essential to help us shape the final designs before construction begins. We invite you to comment on the projects using the information provided. 

Details of each proposed location and a copy of the consultation plan can be found below.

The City is planning to install footpaths and footpath missing links to enhance access to South Metropolitan TAFE Rockingham, Kolbe Catholic College, Rockingham Library, Rockingham Aquatic Centre, Rockingham Commercial Centre and various parks in the vicinity.

The City is planning to install a two metre wide concrete footpath at Nairn Drive in between Amazon Drive and Rushmore Loop. The footpath will improve accessibility to the Baldivis North Commercial Centre and various reserves in the vicinity.

Current footpath works

Footpath related works are underway or are scheduled at the following locations. Details including location plans are included below.

We are installing a two metre wide concrete footpath along Rosewood Street from Bay View Street to Fisher Street. The footpath will provide better access to the pathways surrounding Rockingham Beach Primary School, Rockingham Enclosed Dog Park and various reserves in the vicinity.

Works are expected to commence end of February 2026 with anticipated completion by end of April 2026.

Traffic and property access

  • Temporary traffic changes may include one-way traffic or detours
  • Traffic management will be in place to assist road users
  • Residents will still be able to access their properties at all times

Proposed Footpath Plan - Rosewood Street Rockingham

We are installing a two metre wide concrete footpath at Kenton Way, Sycamore Close and Simpson Avenue, Rockingham. The footpath will provide better access to the pathways surrounding parks, school and various reserves in the vicinity.

Works are expected to commence March 2026 with anticipated completion May 2026.

Traffic and property access

  • Temporary traffic changes may include one-way traffic or detours

  • Traffic management will be in place to assist road users

  • Resident will still be able to access their properties at all times
