As part of the City’s Road Safety Management Plan, several intersections along Willmott Drive in Cooloongup and Wakiki are planned to be upgraded. Works are expected to begin in December 2026. This stretch of road has a history of crashes, and the planned changes aim to make the area safer for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists, while improving access and traffic flow for the local community.
What’s happening
The City is installing roundabouts at the following intersections on Willmott Drive:
- Breaden Drive
- Grange Drive
- Goongarrie Drive
- Gascoyne Way
Roundabout design
In 2022, the City undertook community consultation on the planned upgrades along Willmott Drive. Feedback received during this consultation has been considered and incorporated into the final designs where appropriate.
