The City of Rockingham’s award-winning Stan Twight Reserve redevelopment has taken national honours, winning Cricket Australia’s Community Facility Project of the Year (Major Project Award) at the 2026 National Community Cricket Awards, presented by Westpac.

The national recognition follows the project’s success earlier this year at the 2026 Kookaburra WA Community Cricket Awards, where it secured the same award at a state level

Mayor Lorna Buchan said it was fantastic to see the redevelopment recognised on a national stage.

“This latest achievement is a proud moment for our community and builds on the strong recognition already received at the state level. Stan Twight Reserve is a fantastic example of how investing in quality sporting infrastructure can deliver real benefits for our clubs, volunteers and families.”

The upgraded facilities are already making a positive impact, creating more opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to get involved in cricket while supporting the continued growth of the sport locally.

The redevelopment has strengthened participation pathways and reinforced Stan Twight Reserve’s role as a key community sporting hub in Rockingham, with increased access to modern, inclusive and high-quality facilities.
