The operation has already resulted in 10 enforcement actions, including infringements and a prosecution currently before the courts. Through evidence gathered, several individuals have admitted responsibility for illegally dumping waste on City land.
Mayor Lorna Buchan said illegal dumping was not a victimless crime and offenders should expect to face consequences.
"Illegal dumping damages our natural environment, creates safety hazards and costs ratepayers thousands of dollars every year to clean up," Mayor Buchan said.
"The success of our ongoing operations shows that people who dump waste illegally can - and will - be identified.
"If you're considering dumping waste illegally, think again. Illegal dumpers are being identified and held accountable."

Depending on the nature and severity of the offence, individuals caught illegally dumping waste can face penalties ranging from $200 to $5,000, with serious matters proceeding to court. Residents who witness illegal dumping are encouraged to safely record any relevant details, such as vehicle registration numbers, descriptions of vehicles or people involved, and report the matter to LitterBusters online or by calling 1800 4 LITTER (1800 454 883).
