75 finalists have been selected for this year's exhibition, representing a diverse mix of emerging and established artists from locations spanning Kununurra to Rockingham and Boyup Brook.
Finalists' works cover a range of mediums including painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics and mixed media. The major first prize of $10,000 is non-acquisitive.
Submissions were reviewed by a professional selection panel comprising Dr David Attwood, Perth-based artist and sessional academic; Dr Barbara Bolt, artist and Professorial Fellow at the Victorian College of the Arts University of Melbourne; Noongar artist Noelene Regan, arts worker based in Perth; and Sandra Murray, Rockingham Art Prize Curator.
City of Rockingham Mayor Lorna Buchan thanked the hundreds of artists who entered the prize and acknowledged the quality and passion reflected in this year's submissions.
"We are thrilled by the diversity and quality of entries received this year. The breadth of artistic styles promises an engaging and inspiring exhibition, and the City looks forward to showcasing the finalists' works in what is always a standout event in our annual arts calendar."
Now in its ninth year, the City of Rockingham Art Prize continues to offer artists the opportunity to exhibit their work in a professionally curated public exhibition, with all artworks available for sale.
The exhibition will be open for public viewing from 13 June to 5 July 2026, 10am to 12.30pm and 1pm to 4pm daily with free admission and parking, at the Rockingham Arts Centre, 11 Kent Street, Rockingham.
