City of Rockingham Youth Workers are available to provide youth work support, referral and advocacy for young people aged 12–24 throughout this challenging time.

If you are aged between 12–24 years and need support, please contact a Youth Worker via one of the below mobile numbers between business hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am–5pm

The youth workers can assist you over the phone, by text messages or using FaceTime.

Our Youth Services team is committed to assisting the social, emotional, psychological and physical development of young people by providing a professional youth-friendly service addressing the needs of young people. They provide programs and services tailored to the needs of young people.

Rockingham Outreach Youth Service

Youth Services offer support, advocacy, referral, information and case management for 12-25 year olds living in Rockingham. The Youth Workers provide a duty system at local secondary schools where young people can access a Youth Worker on a regular basis. Contact Student Services at individual high schools for an appointment during school hours. For those young people not able to access a Youth Worker while at school, the Youth Workers are also available at the City's Administration Building, Civic Boulevard, Rockingham from Monday to Friday, 2pm to 5pm.

Youth Workers can assist with:

  • case management
  • mental health
  • financial issues
  • health
  • sexual health
  • legal issues
  • accommodation and homelessness
  • substance and alcohol issues
  • employment and training
  • education
  • recreation.

The Youth Services team also provides programs and services tailored to the needs of young people. These may be in education settings or within the community. Current community groups and programs are:

  • Line of Sight Leadership and Diversionary Program
  • HerSpace School Holiday Program

Community Development Officer (Young People)

The Community Development Officer (Young People) provides young people and their families with early intervention and prevention workshops, information sessions and forums and community events in local education and community settings regarding a variety of issues including the following:

  • mental health
  • suicide prevention
  • resilience
  • sexual health
  • bullying
  • respectful relationships
  • anger and aggression
  • drug and alcohol use
  • safe partying.
