These pages are public forums, and not the place for private conversations to take place, nor for the tone of voice or language sometimes used in private conversations. Many people of all ages from all walks of life, and with different social and cultural values, read and contribute to the discussions on these channels.
Good manners, polite interactions and respectful comments are expected from all Rediscover Rockingham Facebook and Instagram followers, even when disagreeing or expressing concerns. Comments that use offensive language, demean other people, derail conversations with off-topic remarks or references to unrelated posts will be hidden or deleted, and the people posting them may be permanently banned from the Rediscover Rockingham Facebook and Instagram pages.

Respecting other users
The City of Rockingham reserves the right to remove without notice or justification any comments which are:
- Offensive, demeaning, abusive, or violent language meant to harass, threaten, defame, or abuse an individual or specific group(s).
- Hateful or discriminatory language regarding race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or political beliefs.
- Links to sexually explicit material.
- Spam, link baiting or files containing viruses that could damage how other people’s computers or mobile devices operate.
- Violations of copyright or intellectual property rights.
- Multiple successive off-topic posts by a single user.
- Descriptions of threatening or violent events or behaviours.
- Reference to the use of illegal drugs or the encouragement of illegal behaviours (including the violation of Australian copyright laws).
- Inaccurate, false, misleading, or deceptive information.
- Discussion of local government elections and candidates.
- Spam, repetitive and non-relevant selling or advertising by commercial enterprises.
- Any other inappropriate content as determined at moderator’s absolute discretion.
- A violation of the terms and conditions of the social media platform.
Users who do not comply with these guidelines may be blocked from Rediscover Rockingham channels at the City of Rockingham's discretion. Comments deemed inappropriate will be hidden or deleted and repeat offenders will be blocked.
Responding to you
The Rediscover Rockingham social media accounts are managed with active moderation between Monday and Friday, 8am - 4pm.
Passive moderation occurs after business hours as and when required. Rediscover Rockingham moderators will endeavour to respond to all direct message enquiries within one business day.
While these accounts are moderated, they are not constantly monitered, and inappropriate content may at times filter through. Rediscover Rockingham channel moderators will use reasonable endeavours to remove such content as soon as possible.
