Following a number of requests from residents in the area, the City has reviewed the speed limit on Mandurah Road from Surf Drive to Anstey Road in Secret Harbour against the Main Roads Western Australia (MRWA) speed zoning policy. MRWA are responsible for setting speed limits on all WA roads.
Following the speed limit review on this road section, the City made a submission to MRWA who have agreed to reduce the speed limit on Mandurah Road from 100 km/h (existing speed limit) to 70 km/h on this 1 km section of road.

This section of Mandurah Road carries over 25,000 vehicles a day at high speeds.
With more housing being developed the demand on these intersections has increased significantly, the road environment has changed while the speed limit has remained the same. The increase in traffic using this road section and the changed environment has resulted in a number of high severity crashes at both intersections.
Reducing the speed limit on Mandurah Road will improve the safety for everyone using this section of road by reducing the likelihood and severity of crashes.
Main Roads WA speed zoning website has listed the new 70km/h will be implemented on the 11th of May 2026.
Additional to 70km/h speed limit signs, Main Roads will also be installing “New speed limit ahead” signage on approach to the road section.
