Project summary

The Palm Beach West Boat Ramp is due for demolition and renewal in 2025/2026.

Scope of works

The existing boat ramp and associated timber holding jetty have come to the end of their effective design and operational life and will be demolished.

The reconstruction works will be a combination of marine and land-based construction and will include the following:

  • two new reinforced pre-cast concrete boat ramps

  • new centralised holding jetty

  • installation of improved holding jetty fender system

  • construction of new and improved rock armour scour protection

  • concrete abutment and concrete hardstand apron

  • construction of concrete access paths between boat ramp and car parks

  • new and improved functional driveway launching and retrieval opportunities

The facility will also include the construction of a new Personal Water Craft (PWC)/Jet ski launching/retrieval ramp and associated holding jetty to ensure improved safe launch and retrieval times for all recreational trailered vessels.

These works will be completed using land-based plant and machinery from the existing structures and the existing facilities will be closed during the construction period.

The City undertakes these works in accordance with State Agency Environmental and Aboriginal Heritage approvals and conditions for works within the marine park.
