Our major annual events include the Christmas Festival and our New Year’s Eve and Australia Day celebrations.

Christmas Festival

  • Date: Saturday 7 December 2019
  • Time: 5pm–9pm
  • Location: Churchill Park, Rockingham Foreshore

 

Get into the spirit of the festive season at the 2019 City of Rockingham Christmas Festival.

Line the streets to watch the Christmas Street Parade, see the stage performances, and join in with the celebrations for the switching on of the Christmas lights.

The event will also feature roaming Christmas entertainment, free children’s activities, community stalls, food vans and a visit from Santa.

Limited additional parking will be available at the Village Green. Route 555 buses will run every 15 minutes between 5pm–10pm. Visit the Transperth website to plan your journey.

This event is part of the City’s Summer Series of free entry, family-friendly, smoke-free and alcohol-free events.

The Christmas Street Parade runs from 5.30pm–6.30pm, starting at the Village Green. From the Village Green, follow the parade down Flinders Lane, turning right into Kent Street and then left on Wanliss Street. The parade will travel down Rockingham Beach Road and conclude at Churchill Park at 6.30pm

There will be stage performances from 5pm–9pm at The Lookout, Rockingham Foreshore. An Auslan interpreter will also be on stage from 5pm–9pm

The Christmas lights will be switched on at 8pm at The Lookout, Rockingham Foreshore.

New Year’s Eve

  • Date: Tuesday 31 December 2019
  • Time: 5pm–12.30am
  • Location: Churchill Park, Rockingham Foreshore

Join us at the New Year’s Eve Celebration for a great night out to welcome in 2020. The Hoodoo Gurus headline a huge line up of live entertainment along with Rogue and local performers.

There is plenty to see and do for the whole family with two fireworks displays at 9pm and midnight, free children’s activities from 5pm–9pm and a selection of food trucks. The 2019 New Year’s Eve Celebration is not to be missed!

Limited additional parking will be available at Village Green from 3pm. Route 555 buses will run every 8 minutes between 4pm6pm, and every 15 minutes between 6pm1am. Visit the Transperth website to plan your journey.

Australia Day

  • Time: 5pm–8.30pm
  • Location: Churchill Park, Rockingham Foreshore

Head down to the Rockingham Foreshore this Australia Day. There are lots of activities for the whole family including stage performances by LIVE WIRE, Gypsy Lou and the Kingfishers, Breakthrough Competition finalists and local acts.

There will be free children’s activities, a selection of food trucks and fireworks at 8.30pm.

Limited additional parking will be available at Village Green from 3pm. Route 555 buses will run every 15 minutes between 5pm9.30pm. Visit the Transperth website to plan your journey.
