This Christmas, meet Santa in a relaxed, low-sensory environment.

At Sensory Santa, you can enjoy one-on-one time with Santa and his helper in a quiet setting at the Baldivis Indoor Sports Complex.

To give as many families as possible the opportunity to attend, each family will be allocated one 15-minute session. Santa will be mindful of your needs and with a dedicated timeslot, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy the experience with minimal waiting.

This event is targeted towards neurodivergent individuals and families, and people with sensory sensitivities.

Registrations

Registrations are essential and open on Monday 12 October, closing Tuesday 24 November.

To register your place, contact the City on 9528 0333 or email customer@rockingham.wa.gov.au.

Families will be allocated the next available session. Requests for specific times cannot be accommodated.

If you can no longer attend your session, please let us know so that another family can take your place.

Accessibility

When registering, please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your visit more comfortable, such as:

  • Turning ceiling lights on or off
  • Letting Santa know how you would like to be greeted (for example, with a hug, a high five or no physical contact)
  • Playing Christmas music at a low volume or not at all
  • Including or removing tactile items from the space

The Baldivis Indoor Sports Complex is an accessible leisure facility and includes:

  • Accessible Adult Change Facility
  • Universal Access Toilets
  • ACROD parking
  • An outdoor path network to the building.

For more information about accessible places and spaces across the City, visit our Accessible Community Facilities page.

Visual Story

Closer to the event date, registered attendees will receive a copy of the Visual Story via email.

Visual stories (sometimes referred to as Social Stories™) use images and words to describe a situation or experience and can help people prepare for a new social setting.
