Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Rockingham Youth Centre will be closed for the remainder of this week and all scheduled programs are cancelled. We apologise for any inconvenience.
This one day training, delivered by EDP Enterprise Solutions, provides practical skills and strategies to safely manage and de-escalate challenging situations, helping staff respond confidently and appropriately.
Some of the topics covered will be:
- Causes and triggers of challenging behaviours
- Recognising and assessing escalation
- Preventing escalation through environmental and interpersonal strategies
- Understanding personal responses and triggers
- De-escalation techniques and practical tools
- Responding to crisis using policies and procedures
- Practice through realistic simulated scenarios

Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be provided.
Where is it being held?
Training will be held at the Gary Holland Community Centre, 19 Kent Street Rockingham, in the Multipurpose Room. This room is located on the first floor and is accessible via stairs or lift.
Where can I park?
Free untimed parking is available at the rear of the venue, with access via Village Lane. ACROD parking is available.
What should I bring?
- Water bottle

- Any other personal items needed for day
