Hard-to-recycle items such as bottle tops and plant pots often end up in landfill when they can, in fact, be recycled.

Join the City’s Sustainability and Environment team to discuss how these items and more could be recycled as part of a grassroots recycling hub in Rockingham.

A presentation from Bottle Top Hill’s founder, Em, will provide insight into how her community-led initiative grew from humble beginnings into a premier award-winning recycling project in the City of Melville. Brainstorm ideas for our own recycling hub at this interactive workshop session with other like-minded community recyclers.

Discussions will focus on:

  • the types of hard-to-recycle items we could collect
  • how these items will be recycled including the logistics of transportation
  • where we could set up the recycling hub, and
  • how often the local hub could operate.

Together, let’s find ways to divert waste from landfill and promote a more circular economy.

This event is perfect for all ages. Those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Light refreshments will be served.
