The 2026 NAIDOC Week theme, “50 Years of Deadly,” celebrates five decades of First Nations culture, community strength, storytelling and leadership. This milestone honours the resilience of Elders, the contributions of community leaders and organisers and the ongoing cultural expression of First Nations people.

To celebrate this important occasion, we're hosting a NAIDOC Community Day, a vibrant and inclusive open event for the community.

This event is designed to honour and celebrate the continuity of First Nations cultures within the Rockingham community, while creating opportunities for cultural exchange and connection. Attendees can enjoy a range of activities including:

  • Cultural performances
  • Children’s activities
  • Local First Nations business stalls
  • Community information and networking opportunities

The event welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds and aims to create a culturally safe, respectful and engaging environment. We encourages the whole community to come together to learn, connect and celebrate.

The overall goal is to deliver a well-attended and meaningful event that strengthens relationships, increases understanding of First Nations culture and supports ongoing community connection beyond NAIDOC Week.
