This Seniors Week (9 - 15 November 2026), you can find and follow the purple road by visiting various locations across the state and voting for your favourite display.
The City of Rockingham is well represented, with five local groups participating and displaying their section of the purple road for the community to enjoy.
What is the Purple Road?
Purple Road is a community awareness campaign. Stretching over 100 metres across the state, the Purple Road is a continually growing road made up of thousands of hand-made purple flowers contributed via volunteers in art and craft groups and older adults of our community.
The Purple Road initiative invites the community to honour the wisdom, individuality and life journeys of older people, while helping raise awareness of elder abuse and challenging ageism.
