An informative, practical and empowering opportunity to meet with the team from AidInsight over a coffee. Learn, ask questions and take away useful resources to support wellbeing and confidence in accessing mental health care as we age.

This workshop is designed to support older adults and those caring for older people. It focuses on increasing awareness of the mental health support options available, how to navigate them and what pathways exist if they’re ever needed, either for yourself or for someone you care about.

Hear from another older adult about their own personal journey finding mental health support, hear others talk through their experiences and come along with your own questions.

Topics include

  • What is mental health
  • What affects mental health in later life
  • Recognising when to seek help
  • The role of the GP as a primary carer
  • How to prepare for a GP or specialist appointment
  • What is a crisis and where to go for help
  • Public and private pathways
  • Local services and supports for older adults and carers

This workshop is part of the Conversations That Matter workshop series that offers the chance for older adults to connect over a coffee while learning and discussing the importance of mental health.

You are welcome to come along to as many or as few sessions as you would like as each session is designed to be standalone. Find links to the other sessions below.
