This interactive and engaging workshop explores how our brain changes as we age and what we can do to stay mentally and physically well.
Together we will have practical, down-to-earth conversations about the difference between normal ageing, cognitive changes and mental health concerns. We will also explore how lifestyle choices, including sleep, nutrition, activity, social connection and alcohol and other drug use, can impact brain health.
Participants will leave with a better understanding of brain health, increased confidence to recognise early signs of concern and practical strategies to support physical and mental wellbeing for themselves or those they care for.
Retirement is a significant life transition that can bring both opportunity and uncertainty.
This session over a coffee is for those already retired, planning for future retirement or supporting an older family member through this stage.
It offers practical advice, available supports and how to access them and an opportunity to ask questions and take away useful information for now or the future.
Hear guest presentations from Men's Shed WA and the Rockingham Volunteer Centre chatting about some examples of staying connected to community in this time of transition.
Topics include
- The 4 Phases of Retirement
- Emotional changes associated with retirement
- Re-inventing identity
- Discovering new passions
