All applications are to be submitted online via SmartyGrants. Before you prepare and submit your online application, ensure you have all relevant supporting documents including:
- Selection/supporting letter, this must be from:
- an approved governing body (e.g. a copy of selection letter on letterhead)
- stating the applicant's name and
- confirmation of travel and representation level (e.g. competition details with dates, locations, etc)
- Proof of residence
Once your application has been assessed, you will receive notification of the outcome of the City’s decision within four weeks of when your application has been received in full (i.e. all application questions answered and all supporting documentation received).
A formal letter advising you of the outcome of the City’s decision will be sent to you by email or post.
Successful applicants will receive payment electronically directly into their nominated bank account. Please ensure the bank details provided are correct.
The City will not be held responsible for any delays or errors in payment due to factors out of the City’s control (including but not limited to those resulting from banking industry systems).
We are interested in hearing how your competition experience went. To help us finalise you acquittal, please provide:
- Competition documentation - this could be proof of attendance or a certificate.
- Receipt of costings - showing the expenses for your travel, accommodation, or registration fees.
- Photo evidence - for example, a photo taken at the competition or a screenshot of any social media posts related to your participation.
Acquittals are submitted through SmartyGrants. You’ll receive an email with a link and instructions on how to complete your acquittal.
