About Major Grants

Major Grants are available for incorporated not-for-profit organisations and associations to assist with the delivery of programs, projects, initiatives and events that benefit the Rockingham community.

Major Grants should be submitted at least 60 business days prior to the program, project, initiative or event and must be held in the Rockingham boundaries.

The organisation/club cannot receive funding for the same program, project, initiative or event in the current financial year.

Major Grants can be submitted at any time but will only be assessed and considered twice a year.

Please note: applications will be assessed by City officers in accordance with relevant City policies, guidelines and processes.  The City reserves the right to decline applications, or approve for partial funding.  Any decision made by the City are final.

Application Process

Please follow each step below for further information, and before submitting an application:

Step 1. Read the City’s Community Grants Program Guidelines

Please take a moment to review the requirements and eligibility criteria outlined in the Guidelines before proceeding with your application.

Only proceed to the next step of your application if you are confident that you meet all criteria.

Step 2. Contact the Community Grants Officer

Even if you’ve applied for a grant before, you are encouraged to contact the Community Grants Officer to discuss eligibility, procedures and application requirements.  This will assist to streamline the process.

Step 3. Complete the Application

Writing a good grant application requires time and preparation. Ensure that you have thoroughly answered all questions correctly, the budget is balanced and that you have prepared all supporting documentation prior to submitting you application.

Remeber to ensure the program, project, initiative and event is not within 60 business days of the submission.

Step 4. Submitting the Application

Once you have completed the application, please submit your application with all of the relevant documents and quotes as per guidelines.
Applications will only be assessed once the application has been received in full. 

Note: Major Grants must be submitted in full by the round closure date and time.  Late applications will not be accepted.

Step 5. Outcome

Once your application has been assessed, the Community Grants Committee will make recommendations to Council for endorsement.

Once endorsed you will receive notification of the outcome of your application by email or post.

Step 6. Successful Applicants: City Recognition

If your grant application is successful, you must recognise the City’s contributions, use of the City’s logo must be approved by our Strategy, Marketing and Communications team before distribution of any promotional material. Guideless for use of our logo can be downloaded below.

City of Rockingham Banners

If you are using signage or banners to recognise the City’s contributions you can submit an application form to book a banner that promotes the project or event is ‘Supported by City of Rockingham’. 

Complete and return the below form to the City’s Grants Officer at least six weeks prior to the event or project.

Step 7. Acquittals

Successful applicants are required to submit an acquittal by the dates specified in the successful letter. Please keep appropriate receipts and records accordingly. 

For any changes to the program, project, initiative or event, please contact the City immediately.
