LivingWorks ASIST is a two-day, in-person workshop featuring powerful audiovisuals, discussions and simulations.

You’ll explore how personal and community attitudes towards suicide can affect someone’s openness to seek help and your ability to provide it. This workshop is designed to increase your willingness, confidence and capacity to offer suicide first aid.

Two knowledgeable and supportive trainers will guide you through the course, ensuring a comfortable and safe learning environment.

This workshop is free for anyone living, working, volunteering or studying in the City of Rockingham.

Important information:

This course focuses on topics including mental health concerns, suicide and self-harm. We encourage participants to consider their wellbeing and whether this is the right time to engage with these topics. If you do need to withdraw, please let us know and we can place you on the notification list for future workshops.

Please note, this course is not suitable for individuals with recent experiences of mental ill health or suicide, and is educational rather than therapeutic in nature.

There is always someone to listen. If you or someone you know needs help, contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 or Beyond Blue on 1300 224 636.

Location note:

The workshop will be held in the Function Room on Level 1 of the Secret Harbour Surf Lifesaving Club. This room can be accessed via the staircase or the lift through the main administration area facing the car park. The venue is alongside the car park at the end of Palermo Cove and includes accessible ACROD bays next to the entry.
