Castaways
The 12th annual Castaways Sculpture Awards on
Rockingham Beach was blessed with some gorgeous
early summer weather (until the last day when winter
came back for a brief spell). The winning entry,
featured on the front cover, was Staying Home by
Liliana Stafford. The People’s Choice winner was Bait
Ball by Richard Aitken. The City thanks everyone who
participated, and everyone who visited the foreshore
to enjoy this unique sculptural exhibition.

Act-Belong-Commit Schools Take pART
The winners of the Act-Belong-Commit Schools Take pART Competition for 2020 are Cooloongup Primary School
and Living Waters Lutheran College. Both competed against local primary and secondary schools for the chance to
have their design transformed into a mural within the City of Rockingham. The murals were completed in October.
The Cooloongup Primary School mural is located at the Grange Physiotherapy Health Hub on Goddard Street and
the Living Waters Lutheran College mural is located at the Vicinity Rockingham Centre (near the entrance to Coles).
The Act-Belong-Commit Schools Take pART Competition builds community partnerships and shares positive
messages around mental health and the effects of graffiti in our community.
This year’s theme is ‘Be the Change You Want to See’.
