Foreshore Revitalisation Wins

National Community Facility of

the Year Award

The Rockingham Beach Foreshore Revitalisation (RBFR) project has been recognised at the Parks and Leisure Australia 2020
Awards of Excellence, winning the national Community Facility of the Year Award. Competing against the winners of each state
and territory, the City took out the award in October.

Although the RBFR project has received many awards since its completion, the real prize is seeing how popular this revitalised
iconic location is with residents and visitors.

Rockingham Youth Centre

Work on the Rockingham Youth Centre on MacKinnon Street in Rockingham
is progressing steadily. The building work is nearly finished and work on a
large mural on the west-facing wall will commence after practical completion.
Meanwhile,activation of the Centre is underway, to get ready for the opening in
early 2021. The City has also called for Expressions of Interest from stakeholders
in the youth sector who may be interested in making use of the space.
