Date11 May 2023 The City of Rockingham routinely samples water quality levels at several popular beach locations across the community to ensure it is safe for recreational swimming.
Recent samples taken from Palm Beach, Point Peron and Mersey Point have all returned elevated results so as a precaution the City has temporarily closed these beaches for recreational water use until further notice.
Warning signs have been installed around these areas letting beachgoers know of the closures.
The City has taken further water samples and will keep community members updated on when the water quality has returned to safe swimming levels in these locations.
