Celebrate Men’s Health Week with a Blokes’ BBQ
Date09 June 2021
Community members are invited to celebrate Men’s Health Week at the City of Rockingham’s Blokes’ BBQ on Thursday 17 June 2021, with the free event to be held at the Baldivis Trampoline Park from 3.30pm – 6pm.
Men’s Health Week runs from 14 – 20 June and is an opportunity to highlight men’s health and what it means to be healthy.
Held annually, the initiative focuses on the understanding that the best people who can help improve men’s health in Australia are the people who live, work and play alongside men and boys in communities around the country.
Families will be able to enjoy free food and drink, activities for children and prize giveaways at the Blokes’ BBQ. Aboriginal health and wellness provider, Moorditj Koort, will also be offering free health checks for men.
“Men’s Health Week is an opportunity for men both young and old, to take a step back and look at their health and wellbeing,” City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels said.
“The theme for Men’s Health Week 2021 is Men and Families – Working together for Men’s Health, and the Blokes’ BBQ represents a great chance for the community to check in on and celebrate the men in their life.
Importantly, the Blokes’ BBQ event aligns with the strategic aims of the City’s Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2018 – 2022, with the cultivation of healthy lifestyles a key focus.
“Keeping mentally healthy is just as important as staying physically fit, and the City hopes to see many families enjoying the Blokes’ BBQ on 17 June.”
