Date01 November 2019
Throughout November the City of Rockingham will host a series of activities and events to proudly celebrate Seniors Week 2019.
Held annually, Seniors Week is a national event that acknowledges seniors and the positive contribution they have made to their local community. This year Seniors Week will run from Sunday 10 November to Sunday 17 November.
A variety of activities and events will be held in different locations including yoga, aerobics, first aid courses, Zumba classes, education on cyber safety and scam awareness, a cupcake decorating workshop, a screening of a feature film as well as healthy nutrition and sleep workshops.
City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels encouraged seniors to participate in all of the activities on offer.
Seniors make up a significant proportion of our community, about 16 per cent of all residents, and the City values the important contribution they make to our society,” Mayor Sammels said.
Seniors across our community have played a vital role in helping the City become the fantastic place that it is today. The hard work, vision and passion they have demonstrated in helping to grow our community should be an inspiration to all residents.
