Rail Communications Infrastructure - Elanora Drive, Rockingham

The Public Transport Authority (PTA) as part of METRONET, is proposing a major upgrade of its radio analogue system for the Railway Network across Perth.  A new replacement digital system is proposed to be installed, to allow for the transmission of data, which is becoming increasingly important for train/rail operations, as well as providing increased reliability and flexibility, allowing for a more efficient rail network and supporting plans for future expansion.

The City has received an application under the Metropolitan Regional Scheme (MRS) for the Radio Systems Replacement project in Cooloongup extending into the Frank Browne Reserve, Rockingham Golf Course.

A 30m high monopole and equipment is proposed to be installed on the site located on the edge of Rockingham Golf Course, on the eastern side of Ennis Avenue and the Mandurah train line.  According to PTA, the Cooloongup site maintains continuity of the signal along the Mandurah line and is restricted in its location

Plans to support the application are available below.
