Proposed Medical Centre - Karnup

Proposal

We have received a development assessment panel (dap) application for a proposed medical centre at lot 432 (no.2) Charleston Street, Karnup and lot 449 (no.1) Isabelline Terrace, Karnup.

Details of the proposal are provided as follows:

  • The proposed development comprises a two-storey building fronting Verdigris Road, featuring the following:
    • ground floor: reception area, pathologist and radiology clinic
    • first floor: general practise clinic, women’s health clinic, and allied health clinic
  • the hours of operation will be:
    • 8am - 6pm Monday to Saturday
    • 9.15am - 6pm Sunday
  • 38 car parking bays are proposed on-site, inclusive of four ACROD bays, and five on-street parking bays on Verdigris Road
  • access and egress will be facilitated via two new crossovers, one each at Isabelline Terrace and Charleston Street frontages
  • a total of seven medical practitioners will be on-site at any one time
  • shade trees are proposed to be planted throughout the proposed car parking areas.

A range of plans and reports, including a traffic impact statement and acoustic report, have been provided in support of the application and are available to view below.

Please note that the City of Rockingham is not the decision-maker for this application which will instead be determined by the metro outer development assessment panel (MODAP). The City will provide a recommendation to the MODAP through its responsible authority report (RAR).

As part of preparing the RAR, the City is seeking your comments on the proposal. all comments received will be included within the RAR to ensure the community’s views form part of the MODAP’s consideration of the proposed development.

The MODAP meeting will be open to public, and all submitters will be notified of the meeting date once confirmed.
