Proposal
The City has received an application seeking Development Approval for a proposed Fast Food Outlet at the Parkland Heights Neighbourhood Centre.
Details of the proposal include:
- A 380 m² McDonald's family restaurant on the western side of Nairn Drive, on the corner of the Parkland Heights Neighbourhood Centre ‘Main Street’ and Nairn Drive
- a building up to 7.2 m high that includes a dining room, children’s play space and back of house food preparation, drive-through serveries and a waste bin store
- eight dedicated car bays in front of the building, including a universal access bay
- a dual lane drive-through with queuing facilities for 14 vehicles
- landscaping and screening elements are proposed between the building and the street edge
- the proposed operating hours are 24 hours, 7 days per week, and
- various wall signs, illuminated way finding signs and a 9 m high freestanding pylon sign are proposed.

Please note, the City of Rockingham is not the decision-maker for this application which will instead be determined by the Metro Outer Development Assessment Panel (MODAP).
The City will provide a recommendation to the MODAP through a Responsible Authority Report (RAR), endorsed by Council.
As part of preparing the City’s Report’s to Council and MODAP, the City are seeking your comments on the proposal. Your comments will be included within the RAR to ensure that the community’s views have the opportunity to form part of the MODAP’s consideration of the proposal.
These meetings are open to public and all submissioners will be notified of dates at which the matter will be considered by Council and MODAP.
