Proposed Dry Pulp Processing Facility - East Rockingham

Proposal

We have received an application seeking approval for Industry: General (Dry Pulp Processing Facility) at Lot 23 (No.14) Exchange Place, East Rockingham.

The proposed use is for a facility that recycles cardboard and smaller quantities of paper to produce dry fibres “dry pulp” with practically no creation of waste.

The facility is to comprise:

•  An enclosed processing facility steel factory building

•  separate administration building

•  dedicated inbound weighbridge and a dedicated outbound weighbridge

•  sealed access ways and parking area.

It is proposed that deliveries of up to 1,200 tonnes per week will be made by rigid trucks with loads of between five and eight tonnes, and semi-trailer trucks delivering loads twice daily of 24 tonnes.

Based on deliveries made five days per week, up to 32 truckloads of recyclable cardboard and paper are expected per weekday.  Deliveries may be made from 7am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.

The facility will loadout containerised dry pulp in baled form of average load 21 tonnes of product on semi-trailer trucks. Up to 10 loadouts per weekday Monday to Friday are expected, averaging two loadouts per hour.
