Proposed Childcare Centre - Surf Drive, Secret Harbour

Proposal

The City has received an application seeking Development Approval for a proposed Childcare premises on the north-western portion of the abovementioned land.

The proposal consists of:

  • A single-storey Childcare premises on a 2,000 m2 development site
  • the premises will provide care for up to 85 children at any one time, and will accommodate up to 21 staff
  • the premises will operate between 6.30am-6.30pm, Monday to Friday only, and
  • 29 on-site car parking spaces are provided with access from Surf Drive via a 6.2 m wide crossover.

A number of reports, including a Transport Impact Statement, Environmental Noise Assessment, Bushfire Management Plans and Waste Management Plan, have been submitted in support of the application.

Please note, the City of Rockingham is not the decision-maker for this application which will instead be determined by the Metro Outer Development Assessment Panel (MODAP).

The City will provide a recommendation to the MODAP through a Responsible Authority Report, endorsed by Council.

As part of preparing the City’s Report’s to Council and MODAP, the City are seeking your comments on the proposal. Your comments will be included within the RAR to ensure that the community’s views have the opportunity to form part of the MODAP’s consideration of the proposal.

These meetings are open to public and all submissioners will be notified of dates at which the matter will be considered by Council and MODAP.
