Place of Worship (Hindu Temple) - Baldivis


We have received a Development Assessment Panel (DAP) application seeking approval for a Place of Worship (Hindu Temple) to be located at Lot 53 (No.67) Folly Road, Baldivis.

Specifically, the proposed development comprises:

  • a temple building for religious worship of the Hindu faith, and ancillary structures;
  • a multi-purpose hall and associated amenities;
  • a dining hall;
  • a library building;
  • two double-storey caretaker's dwellings, for the priests' accommodation;
  • a single-storey ancillary dwelling for temple guest accommodation;
  • on-site parking for up to 111 cars;
  • vehicle access is proposed predominantly from Folly Road, while an emergency access point is provided to Young Road.

In accordance with the Approvals and Related Reforms (No.4) (Planning) Act 2010, the application is required to be determined by the Metro Outer Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP). The City currently has until the close of business on 11 March 2022 to provide its Responsible Authority Report, its recommendation and forward any submissions received to the DAP Secretariat by this date.

The application will be considered at an upcoming Council meeting, prior to being determined at a JDAP meeting. These meetings are open to the public and your attendance is welcome. The City will inform any submitters of upcoming meeting arrangements when the dates are set, and copies of the agenda will be made available for download on the City's website and Development Assessment Panels website.
