Koorana Reserve Master Plan
- Major infrastructure projects
- Planning and design
We are upgrading the Koorana Reserve playing fields and clubroom to provide more sporting opportunities for people in the Coastal Central Subdistrict.
Our Coastal Central Sporting Infrastructure Assessment identified that Koorana Reserve had the potential to offer more sporting activities, and recommended that the City produce a master plan.
The final concept plan (which included the site layout and building concept plans) was endorsed at the December 2019 Council Meeting. The end product will provide a reserve with the playing space and facilities for sporting clubs to grow where they weren't able to before.
Ovals and sporting club facility Funding partners
As part of the Koorana Reserve redevelopment we will:
- extend and refurbish the existing clubroom
- create an additional senior-sized oval
- add more formal and informal car parking
- install an extra cricket wicket
- move the existing playground within the reserve.
Community Sport and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF)
This project is supported by the State Government, through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, which is a major supporter of community sport and recreation facilities in Western Australia.
Sport and recreation builds stronger, healthier, happier and safer communities.
When we play sport, our whole community wins.
The City has also received funding support from the WACA and Cricket Australia’s Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund, which will support the delivery of cricket-related infrastructure at the Koorana Reserve.
