Project summary

We will be constructing a guard-controlled children’s crossing at Pine View Primary School on Regency Avenue in Baldivis.

As part of the City’s ongoing commitment to improving pedestrians’ safety, we will be constructing a guard-controlled children’s crossing at Pine View Primary School on Regency Avenue in Baldivis.

The location of the crossing has been finalised and determined by the Children’s Crossings and Road Safety Committee, which includes representatives from Pine View Primary School, WA Police, Main Roads WA (MRWA) and the City.

The City appreciates that the proposed works may cause some temporary disruption, however these upgrades are essential to improving safety for all road users.

Scope of works

The upgrade will include:

  • Median island modification
  • Parking bay modifications
  • Footpath modifications
  • Line marking and signage installations
  • Verge and kerb adjustments to accomodate new design geometry

Construction and formalisation process

Once construction of the crossing is complete, MRWA will carry out formalisation works, including line marking, bollards and signage. During this period, the crossing will be secured and barricaded to prevent use by school children.

Once MRWA has completed their works and after inspection by relevant authorities, the crossing will be opened for use under the supervision of traffic wardens.

Project timeline

The project us currently scheduled for delivery in the April 2026 school holidays.

Traffic management

  • Temporary traffic adjustments: Lane closures and reduced speeds may occur during certain phases of construction.
  • Traffic management: Professional traffic management will be in place to assist road users and ensure safety throughout the construction period.
