Baldivis Road Widening

There are three separate projects that are being completed in the northern Baldivis area including the City works:

Wormall civil works - Fifty Road West of MacDonald Road (completed by a private contractor)

• Fifty Road is being upgraded to a boulevard-style road. The upgrade requires the reconstruction of the road at a different level to the current road as well as the relocation of services resulting in deep excavation across the road.

TRACC civil works – Baldivis Road from Fifty Road to Ingram Road and Fifty Road from Baldivis Road to Eighty Road (completed by a private contractor)

• Baldivis Road is being upgraded to a boulevard-style road. The upgrade requires the relocation of services resulting in deep excavation across the road.
• Fifty Road is being upgraded to a boulevard-style road. The upgrade requires the relocation of services resulting in deep excavation across the road.

City of Rockingham works

• Baldivis Road is being upgradedto a boulevard-style road. The day time road closures are required for the safety of workers completing the upgrade.

Road closures are unavoidable for these projects and are only used as a last resort to ensure the safety of workers and road users.

The City has coordinated the works to occur at the same time to reduce the length of time that road closures are occurring in the area. If the works were scheduled separately, road closures would be in place in the area for the next six months rather than 10 weeks.

In the event of an emergency any roads that are safe to open will be opened and traffic management for the project will assist in directing traffic. Residents of the Chase Estate can also use the emergency access point located on Nairn Drive in the event of an emergency.

The works are being completed by three separate organisations. The timeframe for each project is below:

    • 24/7 closure

City of Rockingham works

• Baldivis Road from Fifty Road to Kerosene Lane
  • Completed

As the works are being completed by three separate organisations, the City has made every effort to ensure the accuracy of the information regarding road closures and detours, however the detours and road closures may need to be altered if safety and access concerns need to be addressed.
