Further easing of public health and social measures

The State Government's announcement that public health and social measures will further ease in WA from 12.01am Friday 29 April means our facilities and events have returned to normal operations without the requirement for masks, proof of vaccination or capacity limits.

Since 14 April you have not needed to check-in at any of our facilities or events.

Facility updates

Administration Building

Our Administration Building on Civic Boulevard, Rockingham is open for in-person enquiries from 8.30am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday. You can also call us on 9528 0333 or email us at customer@rockingham.wa.gov.au. You can also submit an online enquiry, or contact us via Facebook.

A wide range of City services are also available on our website via our online services.

Aqua Jetty

Aqua Jetty is open to members and non-members and is operating as normal. There are no capacity restrictions and no proof of vaccinations requirements. Masks are not required.

Toy Library

The Toy Library at Rockingham Library is open to all members with no bookings required.

Toy Library hours are:

  • Tuesday and Thursday 11am to 4pm
  • Saturday 9.30am to 11.30am.

Rockingham Aquatic Centre

The Aquatic Centre is closed for winter.

Warnbro Community Recreation Centre

Group fitness classes are running as normal for members and non-members. Bookings are essential.

Mike Barnett Sports Complex

The complex is open from Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 5pm, and closed on public holidays. For information on weekend availability and after-hours bookings, contact the centre on 9591 0850 or email mikebarnett@rockingham.wa.gov.au.

Autumn Centre

Due to the impacts of COVID-19, the Autumn Centre will be closed from Thursday 9 June – Monday 13 June 2022. The centre will reopen at 7.30am on Tuesday 14 June.  

The City apologises for any inconvenience and thanks the community for their understanding.

Please be advised that after hours groups will continue as normal. Please contact specific group leaders for further information.

Rockingham Arts Centre

The Rockingham Arts Centre is closed for refurbishment.

Rockingham Youth Centre

The Rockingham Youth Centre is open Monday to Friday, 10am to 5.30pm daily. You can contact them on 9591 0836 or at youthcentre@rockingham.wa.gov.au.

Community Halls and Active Reserves

Our community centres and halls have returned to their normal capacity limits.

Pound

The Animal Management Facility is operating by appointment. Please call 9528 0333 beforehand if you need to attend.

Landfill

The Millar Road Landfill Facility is open to accept waste and recycling products from the public and commercial operators.  Please refer to the landfill page for opening times and conditions. 

For the safety of customers and employees, please observe the following:

  • If you are unwell, please remain at home.
  • Observe the recommended physical distancing and health and hygiene measures.
  • The preferred payment is a tip pass, EFTPOS or account.
  • The Recycle Yard may be accessed to drop off items for recycling. Recyclable items accepted are: metals, cardboard, polystyrene, car batteries, engine oil, and items dropped off through the Paintback scheme and Household Hazardous Waste.  Household items brought to the landfill not listed under accepted household items will incur landfill fees.
  • The Reuse Shop is open to shoppers from 7.30am-4pm Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Green waste is also accepted (tip pass or fees apply).
Playgrounds, enclosed dog exercise areas and skateparks

All of the the City's playgrounds, skateparks, enclosed dog exercise areas and outdoor fitness equipment are open in line with State Government restrictions.

Building and development approvals

Building permits

Building permits can be submitted online on our website through Rock Port. We are available to take your calls to answer any questions you have before you get started.

Development approvals

The Minister for Planning has authorised some temporary exemptions for certain approvals and requirements. Visit Development applications for more information.

Swimming pool inspections

We continue to conduct our four-yearly physical inspections of swimming pool and spa barriers. Letters will be sent out inviting those residents with barriers that are due for inspection to contact us to make a booking.

The City is committed to ensuring the health and wellbeing of its staff and the community. Compliance officers conducting the inspections will implement social distancing and other hygiene measures at all inspections. Where access to the pool barrier is available via the side of the house or through a carport or garage, this is preferable.
