About the Foreshore Celebration

Come along to the City of Rockingham Foreshore Celebration and enjoy free family-friendly entertainment at the newly revitalised Rockingham Foreshore. There will be street performers, aerial acts, a variety of interactive workshops, mermaids, ponies, camels, silent disco, drumming circle, trishaw rides for seniors, a community lantern parade plus much more!

This event is part of the City’s Summer Series of family-friendly, smoke-free and alcohol-free events.

Getting there

Overflow parking will be available at Village Green Reserve, corner of Flinders Lane and Patterson Road. See the public parking map below for more information on parking near the foreshore.

We encourage community members to ride their bicycles to the event and take advantage of the free bike maintenance checks happening on both days.

Drop-off bays will be available on Rockingham Beach Road. Additional ACROD bays are available at the Gary Holland Community Centre car park.

Lantern parade

We will be hosting a Community Lantern Parade as part of the Foreshore Celebration on Saturday 26 October 2019. The lantern parade will take place at Churchill Park, Rockingham Foreshore from 7.30pm. Community members have the opportunity to be part of the celebratory parade by attending one of our free Lantern workshops. Lanterns will be made from recycled materials to signify the importance of recycling in the City and along our beaches.

Lantern parade workshops

All workshops are free and materials will be supplied. Registrations are required for all workshops with the exception of the drop-in style workshops on Wednesday 2 October and Friday 4 October at the Warnbro Shopping Centre. For more information on the workshops at the Warnbro Shopping Centre please call the Centre on 9593 6782.

There will also be a drop-in workshop on Saturday 26 October at Churchill Park, the first day of the Foreshore Celebration, starting at 9am.
